UrbanConcept Group

In 2009 the team of students built the vehicle Schluckspecht City in about 8 weeks, and ventured the first step into the UrbanConcept Group. Due to this change and new demands on the vehicle, the outward appearance of the Schluckspecht differed a lot from his forerunners.

Developments and constructions started in autumn 2008. The successful engine concept of Schluckspecht III was adopted: a self-developed and self-contained wheel hub motor was used for the engine. Two hydrogen fuel cells served as a provider for energy. For Schluckspecht City the hub motor was optimized and adapted to the higher vehicle weight.
